Start a Charter School in   New Orleans

NEW SCHOOLS FOR NEW ORLEANS

www.nsno.org

In 2005, New Orleans was ravaged by Hurricane Katrina.  In 2007, New Orleans is pursuing some of the country's most aggressive urban education reform. New Schools for New Orleans (NSNO) is calling on America’s most talented educational entrepreneurs to develop charter schools in New Orleans. Together, we will revitalize this city one school at a time.

New Orleans has the densest population of education reformers in the nation.
New Schools for New Orleans, Teach For America, New Leaders for New Schools, The New Teacher Project, and KIPP are all already on the ground.

Now all we need is you.

the nsno incubation grant

$10,000 a month to founding school leaders or existing CMOs

New School Development Assistance

NSNO will provide founders with leadership training, operational assistance, legal assistance, teacher recruitment services, board development consulting, and a charter application review.

Great School Exposure

NSNO believes that is vital for charter founders to be exposed to the school models and best practices of our nation’s greatest urban charter schools.  NSNO is in close contact with these great schools and will facilitate site visits for all founders.

Community Outreach and Networking

NSNO will facilitate meetings between founders and community groups to ensure that neighborhoods and founders have a shared vision of the future school. NSNO will also assist founders in making contacts with New Orleans’ education entrepreneurs, so as to facilitate continual collaboration and innovation in New Orleans schools.
