Join us for a "Lunch and Learn" session with Dr. Caroline Hoxby on Monday, January 11, from noon to 1 p.m.  She will be presenting on her latest charter school report, The New York City Charter Schools Evaluation Project, which was released earlier this fall.  Her report highlights the positive impact that the ctiy's charter schools have had on raising student achievement levels.  The seven-year study of New York City's charter schools showed that students closed the achievement gap between their public school counterparts in a wealthy New York suburb by 86% in math and 66% in English language arts.

Caroline M. Hoxby is widely known for her educational research and has received many awards for her work.  She is a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution and a member of the Koret Task Force on K-12 Education. She is also the Scott & Donya Bommer Professor of Economics at Stanford University and the director of the Economics of Education Program for the National Bureau of Economic Research.
