Note to politicians and teachers: Schools are for our kids

This Boston Herald Op Ed very bluntly highlights the main obstacle to
reform in MA:

Schools are supposed to be about what's best for kids, not teachers.

Unfortunately, teachers unions now run public schools and put teachers
first. And in this heavily Democratic state, that has meant Democrats
knuckling under for decades to those unions, which in turn give them
re-election money.
