John Legend- ed reform warrior

I met John Legend on Tuesday evening at an event to raise money for his Show Me Campaign, and I was incredibly impressed.  He is an ed reform WARRIOR!  He's on the board of Harlem Village Academy charter schools, and appeared on Morning Joe with founder Deborah Kenny: www.harlemvillageacademies.org/video/archive/morning_joe_12010, and wrote this powerful article, Education Reform: The Civil Rights Issue of Our Time (http://edreform.blogspot.com/2010/01/education-reform-civil-rights-issue-of.html). 

 

At the event this week, he showed the trailer of Waiting for Superman (great stuff; only 2 ½ min: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEf-vJZOj4M) and then another film about his life, how education made all the difference for him, and how he wants every child to have the same opportunities he had.
