Fenty-Gray: Yeah, It's Close

Wow, it looks like DC Mayor Adrian Fenty is actually in a horse race (see article below) – and if he loses, it would be a DISASTER for DC kids and ed reform in general, as it would mean Michelle Rhee likely leaves.

Here's an email from one of the folks on my email list:

There is a meet-and-greet with Mayor Adrian Fenty tonight from 7:30 - 9:00 PM at Meridian Pint in Columbia Heights (3400 11th Street NW). From what I understand some TFA alums have started a "Ed Reformers for Adrian Fenty" group and this is an event they're hosting. Sounds like there will a lot of reformer-types in attendance. As you know, if Fenty loses, Rhee's out...so these next few weeks are critically important.

I haven't really been paying close attention because, dare I say, I thought he was a shoo-in. Yikes, word is it's going to be A LOT closer than I thought.

Fenty-Gray: Yeah, It's Close

The talk of the town this morning is the new Clarus poll, released this morning, which shows Vince Gray with a slight lead over Mayor Adrian Fenty as we head toward the stretch run. But in terms of the mayoral race, there's little to glean other than what we already knew: the race is really, really close, and will likely turn on Primary Day turnout and, unfortunately, racial divides.
