DC voucher program reauthorized!

Some GREAT news, shared by my friend and ed warrior John Kirtley in Florida:

 

The DC voucher program was reauthorized last night as part of the budget deal! What a wonderful victory for the children and families of the capitol.

 

Boehner is a hero. He personally made this happen. American Federation for Children has worked extensively with him and his staff.

 

What a great day!

 

Note: DFER worked hard on Capitol Hill for this as well.

 

Boy, the ed reform fight sure does create strange bedfellows.  It's a rare day when I'm giving kudos to Boehner on anything, but in this case it's well deserved.  Let's agree to disagree on other issues, and work together on this issue.
