Roxbury Prep

An exciting day for Roxbury Prep in Boston:

Dear Friends of Roxbury Prep,

The first day of school is always an exciting event, but this year it is particularly momentous as we open the first new campus as part of Roxbury Prep's charter expansion plan!  Today Grove Hall Prep welcomes 75 fifth graders and 12 staff members to its interim home at 214 Harvard Street in Dorchester.

Roxbury Prep was established in 1999 and has since become one of the top public middle schools in Massachusetts, consistently outperforming over 80% of middle schools across the state, and ensuring that 99% of its students to date have gone on to graduate from high school.  The mission of Roxbury Prep and Grove Hall Prep is to prepare students to enter, succeed in, and graduate from college, and we are proud to report that currently nearly 80% of Roxbury Prep's alumni are enrolled in or have completed college.

Roxbury Prep welcomes incoming sixth graders today as well, and returning seventh and eighth grade students tomorrow, August 31st.  With our network, Uncommon Schools Boston, now two schools strong, we are excited to grow to four schools serving 1,800 students over the next five years.

We would like to thank all of our teachers, students, families, and loyal supporters who have made this day possible.  We look forward to sharing our Grove Hall Prep and Roxbury Prep students' accomplishments with you throughout the coming school year.
