It's so sad that so many people and reporters are unwilling to talk/write about bad teachers – even a small number can do enormous harm.  The NY Daily News profiles a few:

One Satan-spouting Queens teacher threatened students with flames and a box cutter.

Another instructor bragged to students about his pickup skills.

A third insisted on hugging every student in his class twice a day.

They are among the more than 20 Department of Education employees disciplined in the past two years for acting inappropriately at school, records show.

The disciplined teachers and aides broke Education Department rules for appropriate classroom behavior and many lost their jobs or paid stiff fines, according to reports from Special Commissioner of Investigation Richard Condon.
