Teach For America experience increases participants' racial tolerance, commitment to educational equality, and the chance that they will pursue careers in education

Good news for TFA:

I wanted to let you know about the release of a new report about Teach For America from Harvard University's EdLabs. This report looks at the impact that Teach For America has on its teachers' attitudes and career choices.

The Harvard researchers, Will Dobbie and Dr. Roland Fryer, Jr. (who last week won the Macarthur genius grant), found that the Teach For America experience increases participants' racial tolerance, commitment to educational equality, and the chance that they will pursue careers in education.  This is an important finding, given Teach For America's alumni base in New York is the largest concentration of our more than 24,000 alumni nationwide. You can read a summary here and the full report here.

Let me know if you have any questions - I look forward to hopefully catching up with you sometime this fall.

Best,

Jeff Li
