The Manhattan Institute is hosting an education conference at the Harvard Club in NYC this coming Tuesday (12/13) that will discuss some of the issues raised in Marcus Winters's book, Teachers Matter: Rethinking How Public Schools Identify, Reward, and Retain Great Educators (www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/144221077X/tilsoncapitalpar).  The conference will explore the many of issues surrounding teacher quality and the emerging new paradigm for how educators should be recruited, trained, evaluated, and compensated. Joel Klein was kind enough to write the foreword for the book and will be delivering the keynote. Eva Moskowitz, Chris Cerf, and Evan Stone of E4E will also participate in a panel discussion. I hope to see you there!
