KIPP TEAM in Newark

If LDH had a clue, she'd have shown up at one of the KIPP TEAM (or North Star or Robert Treat) schools in Newark and called on the educational establishment to embrace what these amazing schools are doing, rather than trying to kill them.  Speaking of KIPP TEAM, in a few seconds you can help the school win $250,000 – and it won't cost you a penny:

KIPP Rise was accepted into an online voting competition for a $250,000 grant to help us build an athletic field next to our building. In order to win, however, I need to somehow convince every person that I know to sign up and vote for us every day in the month of May. Registering should take you 2 minutes and voting every day after that should take no more than 30 seconds. I'd love for any of you to commit to voting every day in May for our project. What would make an even bigger difference would be if you were willing to reach out to your personal network and somehow convince as many people as you know to vote for us as well. $250,000 is a lot of money for what will amount to virtually no work at all for us. Also, KIPP TEAM's annual Be the Change Celebration is on Wed. evening, May 26^th:

 

I'm thrilled to invite you to join us as we celebrate the first TEAM class to go to college at this year's Be the Change Celebration.  Eight years ago, TEAM's founding staff sat down in living rooms across Newark and promised each of our student's families that we would do everything within our power to help their 10 year old go to college in 2010.  That promise probably seemed pretty far away to both the students and the parents then, but today that promise is being realized and we're looking forward to celebrating with you.  Details on attending and support are attached.
