A contrary view of Payzant

From one of my readers:

Wow, I was shocked to see you've bought into the Boston schtick too.

Payzant has steadily opposed charters, unlike Klein.

The Achievement Gap in Boston has RISEN on MCAS during his tenure.

Of all the school districts in MA, Boston is in the lowest 5% in performance. Take away its elite exam schools - Boston Latin and Latin Academy are mostly white and Asian in a district which is 80% black and Hispanic - and it drops to the bottom 2%.

45% dropout rate.

I'd welcome anyone else's comments on Payzant.
