KIPP Ascend

I visited the KIPP Ascend charter school in Chicago 2-3 years ago when it was just getting started and was very impressed.  I received its annual report in the mail the other day and it's good to see that they've been knockin' the cover off the ball!  The 7th graders ranked 8th out of 401 nonselective schools in Chicago in composite math and reading scores, vs. 361st for the average school in KIPP's neighborhood.  And entering students were at the 14th and 26th percentile nationally in reading and math, respectively.
