Bloomberg: "Maybe I Should" Donate To Pro-Charter Group »
Mayor Bloomberg says he doesn't "think" he's donated to Education Reform Now, the pro-charter-school group airing anti-teachers-union ads in its push to raise the cap on such schools, but now that you mention it...
DN City Hall Bureau Chief Adam Lisberg passed along this interesting exchange he had with the mayor at today's Q&A session:
Q: There's a new charter bill in the state Senate today and I'm wondering, have you donated to Education Reform Now, or have you encouraged anyone to donate to it?"
Bloomberg: "I certainly think people should. I don't think I have. I can't donate to everything. But if I haven't, maybe I should."
ERN spokesman Stefan Friedman tells me that no, Bloomberg hasn't made any donations to the group.
Gotta wonder how that idea grabs the UFT...
