Sweeping School Reform Bill Goes To Rell For Signature

Speaking of Achievement First, which was founded in Connecticut, some exciting developments:

 

Lawmakers approved a historic school reform bill Wednesday that would make high schools more rigorous, change teacher evaluations, empower parents to force change in failing schools and authorize the State Board of Education to replace local, elected school board members.

The far-reaching bill is designed to help close the achievement gap and strengthen the state's application for millions in federal economic stimulus money through the Race to the Top competition.
