U.S. EDUCATION SECRETARY TO VISIT NEW JERSEY TO HOST TEACH TOWN HALL MEETING WITH MAYOR BOOKER, CONGRESSMAN PAYNE AND EDUCATORS IN NEWARK, GIVE ADDRESS AT PRINCETON UNIVERSITY ON IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION REFORM

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will visit New Jersey on Wednesday, April 20. At 12:15 p.m. EDT, Duncan will join Newark Mayor Cory Booker, Congressman Donald Payne (D-N.J.), and a local teacher for a Town Hall on the U.S. Department of Education's TEACH Campaign. The group will hold a panel discussion and question-and-answer session with an audience of teachers, local leaders and other education stakeholders on recruiting the next generation of high-quality teachers to join those already in the classroom. For more information on the TEACH campaign, visit www.TEACH.gov.

At 4 p.m. EDT, Duncan will head to Princeton University to give remarks on the importance of education reform and the growing sense of urgency to reauthorize the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, also known as No Child Left Behind.
