Steve Brill’s Report Card on School Reform

This NYT review of Class Warfare, unfortunately, reinforces the stereotypical liberal NYT view of things (which, to the NYT's credit, it's been moving away from on this issue in recent years, Michael Winerip notwithstanding). I wish I had the time to rebut its many inaccuracies, such as citing the first CREDO study on charter schools, but dismissing other studies and not mentioning the CREDO study of NYC. It also assets many things that Brill didn't say like this: "Yet Brill wants us to believe that unions are the primary — even sole — cause of failing public schools."
