PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- As the House-Senate pension briefing was about to get underway, the General Treasurer's Office handed out a summary that included this fact: 58 percent of retired teachers and 48 percent of retired state employees have pensions that pay them 100 percent or more of their final average salary when they retired.

And that does not include Social Security.
