Hillary & the class size myth

In the article in my last email about Hillary Clinton's speech at the teacher union conference, she was quoted as saying: "policymakers should focus resources instead on what she described as proven remedies, such as smaller class sizes..."
 
few of you asked whether this is correct.  It's not!  At best, the evidence about the benefits of smaller class sizes is mixed and legislation mandating this is likely to do more harm than good.  See my slides on this at: www.tilsonfunds.com/Personal/Classsize&teacherpay.pdf
