The incomparable Howard Fuller

At the NAPCS conference in Atlanta on Monday I ran into the incomparable Howard Fuller, who's leading a rally against a terrible Georgia Supreme Court decision against charter schools tomorrow.  Here's a well-deserved award for him from the Children's Scholarship Fund Philadelphia:

750 new scholarships awarded at 2011 Student Awards Ceremony

CSFP awarded 750 scholarships to new members of our scholarship program on Friday, June 17th at Drexel University. At the event, we honored Dr. Howard Fuller, the fouder and chair of the Black Alliance for Educational Options (BAEO), with our 2011 Citizen of the Year Award. Dr. Fuller helped to distribute 10 scholarships in his name to CSFP alumni who will be graduating from high school and attending college this fall. CSFP also honored PNC Bank as our 2011 Corporate Citizen of the Year. Rebecca Quinn-Wolf, a Vice-President at PNC, was there to accept the award and congratulate our new families on the great opportunity that the scholarship provides. Many of our current scholarship recipients were also honored with awards for CSFP's annual Art & Essay Contest, academic excellence, and service to their school. See a complete list of award winners, including the CSFP parent and teacher awards here.
